The Law Office of
Andrew J. Simpson

A law firm for consumers, debtors, workers, investors, and victims of fraud and other misconduct in New York. We fight for consumers who face deceptive and unfair debt collection practices, including cases that involve healthcare debt, student debt, landlord-tenant disputes, and identity theft. We also have almost a decade of experience advising clients in the complex world of bankruptcy.

Our Practice Areas

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

Over 200,000 complaints were filed with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in 2025, almost double the number in 2024. If you're facing improper conduct by a debt collectior, you are not alone. And you are not without help. The FDCPA is a federal law that protects consumers from debt collectors who break the rules. Any debt collector who violates your rights may be required to pay you statutory damages of $1,000, plus any actual damages, as well as attorney's fees and costs.

If debt collectors, landlords, or a company you've never even heard of before are chasing you for money and you want to learn more about your rights, call us today for a free consultation.
